Here's how to use Dumbwit with an iPhone or iPod Touch:

1. Hold down on the link below and choose Open in New Window. This will open a not found page
2. Add a Bookmark as you usually would (+ icon, and Add Bookmark)
3. Change the name to something better than "404 Not Found". Dumbwit will do
4. Add bookmark.
5. Go into the Bookmarks menu and choose the Edit function, and pick your new Dumbwit bookmark
6. Scroll to the very front of the long address and remove the http://www.iamscott.net/ part. You want it to start directly with "javascript"
7. Done on out. You're done!

Now, to use it, when at a UD page (main screen or profile) you want a shot of, pull up bookmarks and choose the appropriate Dumbwit bookmark. It'll do its thing and ask for a comment (currently not used or saved) and then present you the usual success screen with a link. You can load it and view it, or bookmark it, or all the usual things you do with your own personal dumbwit links. This process (or similar) may work on other javascript-enabled smartphones such as Android-based devices and BlackBerries, but I don't have access to either to try it. If someone does, let me know.

Currently, the comment does nothing but that may change. Depends on how fast the real one gets fixed! This is roughly equivilent to iwit's "Private" option. The directory is not listable or searchable. The URL is based off the current epoch time and a random number, so I can't guarantee that someone can't find an old one by luck.

I can be reached at scott (at) iamscott (dot) net if you have any questions, comments, or manage to break it.

Updates:
6/7/2009:
I've fixed the issues with udtoolbar prettiness and the  characters all over. If you have udtoolbar, the pretty display should be retained in the dumbwit. If you don't, it should display Classic style. I've updated all the past entries for the fix, so they should work. If your entry is now broken in some way, drop me an email with a link and I'll take a look at it.
The current leading cause of issues is various addons and extensions that do strange things. It may need some styling information or something that the dumbwit doesn't retain. If you have something that comes across broken or strange, send me an email with the link and what addons you're using, and I'll see about updating it to support them better.
