You are inside St George's Hospital, dark corridors leading through abandoned wards. The building has been very strongly barricaded. There is a crowd of 62 survivors gathered here. [list all names]

A portable generator has been set up here. It is running, and powering a radio transmitter that's currently set to 26.11 MHz. One of the wards has been decorated with a stuffed eagle, a conceptual painting, four cubist sculptures, a stuffed lion head, a historical tapestry, a glass bowl, a torn tapestry, an African sculpture and a skull.

Somebody has spraypainted Malton College of Medicine onto a wall.

Since your last turn:

  • 26.11 MHz: "http://www.shadowgypsie.netfirms.com/cgi-bin/Blah/Blah.cgi?" (9 hours and 19 minutes ago)
  • Sonja Red said "There are some survivors in Milton Drive Railway Station that are in BAD need of medical attention. There is one poor soul on death's doorstep. I've also realized that I'm need to spend some time finding more first aid kits." (8 hours and 28 minutes ago)
  • Violet Begonia said "Welcome, everyone to Malton College of Medicine. When I say welcome, everyone, I really do mean everyone. We are happy to have you here regardless of Rogue's Gallery status, zed group affiliation, past time spent as a zed, or if you have Brain Rot." (7 hours and 41 minutes ago)
  • Violet Begonia said "We especially welcome people with very little experience in Malton as a survivor. We try to help new people learn the skills and behavior that will most benefit them and help them be successful survivors." (7 hours and 37 minutes ago)
  • Violet Begonia said "One of the most important issues for a new survivor is how to use that precious XP. When you first start in Malton, the first few levels are the hardest. You have the fewest resources at your disposal, and it is hardest to just stay alive." (7 hours and 34 minutes ago)
  • Violet Begonia said "the first two skills a survivor should get are Free Running and Diagnosis. Free Running keeps you alive. It gains no XP, but it opens the way for you to enter most buildings. Until you have Free Running, it's very easy to die trapped out on the streets." (7 hours and 31 minutes ago)
  • Violet Begonia said "Free Running can be a bit tricky to use around ruins, however. The thing to remember about ruins is that you cannot Free run INTO a ruin, but you can free run OUT of them. (OOC: Ruins show up as dark on the map in the upper left corner of your browser.)" (7 hours and 26 minutes ago)
  • Violet Begonia said "Attempting to free run into a ruin results in your being forced to street level outside the building you were attempting to free run into, and you stand a chance of taking 5 HP damage from falling. If you can avoid free running into a ruin, do so." (7 hours and 23 minutes ago)
  • Violet Begonia said "Diagnosis is another critical skill for newcomers. It is the second skill (along with Free Running) necessary for you to go on our medic runs. It allows you to see the HP of people next to their name. It will make a huge difference in how fast you gain XP" (7 hours and 21 minutes ago)
  • Rob Lefter said "Violet,i was orginally weary about your idea of the MCM." (7 hours and 18 minutes ago)
  • Violet Begonia said "First Aid is a skill best left for the middle levels. It lets you heal 10 HP for each FAK, but you still only gain 5 XP per FAK. It is a good skill to have because it allows you to help more people for fewer APs, but it doesn't help you gain XP." (7 hours and 18 minutes ago)
  • Rob Lefter said "But i was wrong, the MCM is a great service you provide to surivors." (7 hours and 17 minutes ago)
  • Violet Begonia said "*blinks in surprise*Why, thank you, Rob. I know a lot of people were skeptical. there are still people out there who don't quite 'get us'. But I think in time, people will come around, for the most part." (7 hours and 13 minutes ago)
  • Violet Begonia said "I appreciate your support. Thank you again." (7 hours and 11 minutes ago)
  • Violet Begonia said "Ah, skills for new people. Construction is another skill that helps you stay alive. It will gain you NO XP, but sometimes it is the only thing that keeps you alive. How essential it is depends on how many zombies are in the immediate area." (7 hours and 8 minutes ago)
  • Violet Begonia said "When we are a green zone surrounded by green zones, Construction is less valuable. Now, with construction and a toolbox, construction is the only skill that will allow us to recover North Blythville and Brooksville after the MOB moves on." (7 hours and 2 minutes ago)
  • Boots the Monkey said "I think it rocks! And thus it rocks! :D I also likw the cookies and the tree!" (6 hours and 59 minutes ago)
  • Violet Begonia said "Construction is the skill that allows you to add levels to barricades, and thus save your life. Body Building adds 10 HP to your max. While that's nice, it should be a mid-level skill since it doesn't help you gain XP." (6 hours and 59 minutes ago)
  • Boots the Monkey said "*huggles tree and hides in branches and listens*" (6 hours and 59 minutes ago)
  • Violet Begonia said "*chuckles* I think it rocks, too, Boots! And I like the cookies and the tree as well! And our new monkey! *passes a banana*" (6 hours and 58 minutes ago)
  • Violet Begonia said "If you are a scientist, NecroTech Employment is a good skill for gaining XP. Get a DNA Extractor from Pippard NT 1SW, 1W of here - it should be VSB most of the time. Then run around scanning zombies. You gain 4 XP per successful scan." (6 hours and 53 minutes ago)
  • Violet Begonia said "Necrotech Employment is also necessary if you ever want to be able to revive zombies. Lab Experience allows you to use a syringe to revive a non-brain-rotted zombie. It is an essential skill for life in Malton. You get 10 XP for reviving, but" (6 hours and 49 minutes ago)
  • Violet Begonia said "count your AP first, because it costs you 10 AP to revive, and you CAN go into negative AP when you revive, leaving you helpless for hours. Syringes are only found in Necrotech buildings such as Pippard, and are useless without Lab Experience." (6 hours and 46 minutes ago)
  • A flare was fired 7 blocks to the east and 2 blocks to the south. [38-73] (6 hours and 45 minutes ago)
  • Violet Begonia said "Military skills are another good way to get experience. You get 1 XP for every point of damage you do to a zombie if you are a survivor. Survivor-on-survivor damage gives you half the XP, as does zombie-on-zombie damage. Here at MCM, we discourage" (6 hours and 41 minutes ago)
  • Violet Begonia said "survivor-on-survivor damage. Killing zombies is more efficient AP-wise, and is just a healthier way to play. If you are a scientist, the best first combat skill is probably Hand-to-Hand Combat. You never have to search for ammunition with melee weapons," (6 hours and 38 minutes ago)
  • Violet Begonia said "making them AP-efficient. The best melee weapon, hands down, is the Fire Axe. You can get specialized training in it to raise your chances of hitting up to 40%, and it is as effective at lowering barricades as a crowbar. Knife Combat is usually one of the" (6 hours and 35 minutes ago)
  • Violet Begonia said "last skills someone gains because the ration of AP used per damage caused and XP gained is simply not very good. It does little damage per hit, and thus you also gain little XP. If you are military, look hard at the various gun skills. While you have to" (6 hours and 33 minutes ago)
  • Violet Begonia said "search for ammo, guns do a lot of damage per AP used, and thus are very handy to have in a crisis. Basic Firearms Training will help you use any type of gun. If you don't have it, don't bother with guns, period. You'll never hit anything." (6 hours and 31 minutes ago)
  • alexknight629 said "hello" (6 hours and 29 minutes ago)
  • Violet Begonia said "Pistols are easier to get ammo for since there are 6 bullets per clip, but shotguns do a lot more damage. You can't get specialized training in the inaccurate flare gun, but it handy if you're desperate or if you want to set someone on fire - something" (6 hours and 27 minutes ago)
  • Violet Begonia said "we'll cover another time. The mall rat skills, Shopping and Bargain Hunting, make your earches much more efficient in malls, and are a wonderful way to restock on ammo and FAKS. Don't get them until you have free running, though, because malls are EHB." (6 hours and 24 minutes ago)
  • Violet Begonia said "Necronet Access is a complex skill, allowing use of the computer in NT buildings and revivification of brain rotted zombies. It also allows you to waste AP manufacturing syringes instead of searching for them. Searching is almost always more efficient." (6 hours and 22 minutes ago)
  • Violet Begonia said "Skills that should be a low priority to acquire include tagging, Radio Operation, and Surgery, as well as the previously mentioned Knife Combat. I need to rest now, but please feel free to ask questions, and I or other MCM people will gladly answer." (6 hours and 18 minutes ago)
  • A flare was fired 4 blocks to the east and 4 blocks to the north. [35-67] (1 hour and 19 minutes ago)
  • Joseph291 refuelled the generator. (29 minutes ago)
